Bio fuels

|

Biofuels are the compounds(fuels) that are formed when the biological matter such as the plants or the animals decompose

Advantages of Bio-fuels over fossil fuels:

The following are the advantages of the biofuels over the fossil fuels,

* Bio fuels can be produced in quick time when compared with fossil fuels

* They produce less pollution.

* They are renewable unlike the fossil fuels.

* They are eco friendly and do not release more amount of carbon into the atmosphere.

*They are cost effective and are cheap when compared with fossil fuels.

* They have the tendency to replace the fossil fuels in the near future.

Different types of bio-fuels

Bio-fuels have been divided into 4 types they are:

  • First type
  • Second type
  • Third type
  • Fourth type

In the first type the fuels are derived from the vegetable oils and fats . Some of the examples include the biodiseal, Vegetable oils etc..,

The second type of the biofuels are derived from the waste , they include different kinds of alcohols and diesel generated from wood.

The third type comprises of bio-fuels derived from algae. The algae fuels are extremely eco-friendly as they can easily decompose into the soil without harming it.

The bio-fuels in the fourth type are derived by a method in which micro-organisms are employed with carbon dioxide to generate fuel.

Disadvantages of bio-fuels

Even there are many advantages about the bio fuels , there are some disadvantages about them too , they are as follows:

* Biofuels require huge land to cultivate

* Most of the people feel that the food should be cultivated in the land instead of cultivating the biofuels in such huge pieces of land.
